About Us Alumni Healthcare Staffing’s focus is to staff Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and CRNA’s. We work to provide staffing solutions to clients and physicians nationwide – whether it be locum tenens (temporary physician coverage), locums to permanent, or a permanent position. Our clients range from small private outpatient facilities to large public healthcare facilities. We place high importance on a quick turnaround time in order to ensure that our clients are getting the coverage they need when they need it. What is locum tenens? “Locum tenens is taken from a Latin phrase meaning “to hold the place of.” Most commonly referring to temporary physicians, locum tenens doctors contract with recruitment agencies to perform medical services for a healthcare organization over a certain period of time. The physician works as an independent contractor paid through the staffing agency, which is in turn paid by the healthcare facility.”
