Neonatology in NE - Will Wait for License

Neo Nurse Practitioner (NNP)
Lincoln, NE
1099 Contract position

Location: Lincoln, NE
Need: Neonatology NP
When: 7/10/22 ongoing
Shift: Varies but looking at 3 shifts per week, 12-24 hours. Weekend requirements. No call

Ideally looking for someone who has a NE license and could be credentialed quickly. 0.9 FE (3 shifts per week). Could work 12-24 hours in a day. Open to wait for a license for the right candidate.

-27 bed
Level III but average daily census 6-10 the past several years
-care for infants 23+ weeks, will discuss and offer a trial of resuscitation for 22 week infants if parents desire
-ventilation use: Drager for CMV, NIPPV, NCPAP; HFJV, HFOV, bubble CPAP, primarily RAM cannula for CPAP, Fischer Pikel HFNC, iNO
-whole body cooling and aEEG
-NICU specific OT and Speech, RT available to NICU but also cover adult units
-Dietary and pharmacy input but Neo/NNP write TPNs and feeding orders
- MER - EPIC
-Surgeries offered: laser therapy for ROP, inguinal hernia repair

NNP routine and scheduling:
-12 and 24 hours shifts (report times 0630 and 1830), ~ 50% nights
-full staffing for NNP team is 6 (3 full time, 3 part time), down to 4 regular staff as of July 10, 2022
-One NNP on service in house at all times, Neo in house daily for rounds and several hours then on call from home within 30 minutes from the hospital. Neo’s are very involved and hands on, want to be called with changes and questions.
They come in for admissions < 32 weeks or unstable and significant status changes. (2 full time Neo’s and locum coverage 3-5 days/month)
-Transport
RNs attend most deliveries with NNP for backup, NNP to attend all expected NICU admissions (anomalies, < 36 weeks), some shifts have no transport RN coverage
-Ground transports NNP/RN team. We do not always have coverage to go out on transports. Would prefer Locum/prn NNP staff be oriented to transport but is negotiable
-weekend requirement (36 hours) Friday-Sunday, 2 out of 5 weekends prescheduled
-Holidays rotate/schedule include: Easter, July 4th, Thanksgiving, Xmas, New Years
-called to help in ED if an infant is coding/decompensating, help with IV access or lab draws
